General Information

Each in-car lesson is Two hours in length.  They are one-on-one with a certified instructor.  We pick-up at your home, school or work as arranged through the main office.  The instructor carries with them their certificate given by the state.  Each instructor has been through training and a background check.  Cost of the lessons may be obtained by contacting the main office at 436-3838 or by Email. At this time you can only sign up for in-car lessons by calling the main office.

We require at least 24 hours notice for cancellation of an in-car lesson.  If a notice is not received then we charge a late fee of $20.  Please let us know as far in advance as possible any changes in your scheduled lessons.

Teen In-car lesson Plan:

• Persons under 18 are required to take eight hours or 4 lessons, 2 hrs each.




• The lessons go in series from 1 to 4. 




• 1) The Basics:  First the instructor will familiarize you with the controls on the car, and how to adjust the seatbelt, mirrors, and learn about the blindspots.  Starting from a parking lot you will learn the basics of starting, stopping, turning and signaling.  Students usually do some on-the-road driving in light traffic for the second part of the lesson.




• 2)  In lesson 2 we will build on the previous lesson.  Students begin by backing out of their driveway.  We will have them driving in light traffic for awhile making left and right turns-- some stop turns and some non-stop turns.  During this lesson we usually cover lane changes, where to stop the car at lights, stop signs, how to handle intersections, lane positions and movement between lanes, and what a "Stale Green" light is.  Students will also practice the maneuverability portion of the driving test. 




• 3) Lesson 3 takes us into heavier traffic and more challenges such as yeilding for a left turn at a traffic light and turning at streets with several turn lanes.  We will practice maneuverability and parallel parking.




• 4) Wrap-Up:  Students get a simulated road test and maneurverability test.  We will practice various types of parking and turning around.  If we can find any, students practice driving on one-way streets.  We also cover getting on and off the highway as well as freeway driving.
